Even though the files cover a time period of fifty years, most of the files date from the First World War and the 1920s. The archives contain interesting source material, especially concerning the war period and the following years, mainly about the Flemish question and in particular the language problems in the Belgian army. In addition, the files about the Belgian foreign politics deserve special mention as well, and to a lesser extent also the files concerning educational affairs, financial and social questions, and affairs of the Catholic Party.
