The archives of Jean-Luc Dehaene consist of three large parts. The first part contains ministerial meetings (808 boxes). Here, one can find working documents, minutes and agendas of:
- the federal Council of Ministers (December 1981- February 1992 and June 1995-June 1999)
- the Inner cabinet (January 1988- December 1991)
- the meetings of the prime minister and vice-premiers (August 1988- November 1989)
- the MCESC (January 1982- December 1991)
- the Cabinet (1986-1991)
- the Consultative Committee Federal Government – Executives (November 1979 – January 1992)
- the Ministerial commissions Institutional Reforms (April 1979 – October 1988)
- various ministerial commissions (1982-1992)

The second part consists of personal and cabinet files (333 boxes) of J.-L. Dehaene. One can find, among others, speeches and press conferences, correspondence (mainly 1997-1999), press cuttings concerning his political appearance, correspondence and files of the ‘International Cell’ of his cabinet, the State reform, and so on.

The third part contains press cuttings on general political developments: 1981-1999
